Woman in Delft tested positive for the Corona virus

Delft – Tonight, a resident of Delft has been diagnosed with COVID-19. After laboratory research in 2 labs, the RIVM National Institute for Public Health and the Environment determined this result. The patient, who has no link with the previously found patients, was in Lombardy (Italy) last week. She is in home insulation. GGD Municipal Health Service Haaglanden maps who this patient has been in contact with through contact research.

Patient contacts are approached by the GGD Municipal Health Service and must record their temperature twice a day. If these contacts receive complaints that are compatible with COVID-19, they will also be placed in isolation and tested for the new corona virus.

The RIVM National Institute for Public Health and the Environment and the GGD remain alert to new infections and apply the same protocol as new patients are found: isolation, contact research and continuous monitoring of the patient. These measures reduce the chance that the disease can spread in the Netherlands.

Rotterdam – After the coronavirus showed up earlier this week in Tilburg, and an Amsterdam UMC employee was tested positive yesterday in Amsterdam, the coronavirus is now also appearing in South Holland. After an infection in Delft was reported around 9 p.m., a patient in Rotterdam also reported to Erasmus MC earlier today. The first test was found to be positive today, a second test is being conducted by RIVM. The result is expected on Sunday.
