Published: Just updated – Halima Cisse thought she “only” would give birth to seven children, but had two more when she gave birth in week 30 of her pregnancy. She was sent to a specialist clinic in Morocco, where the five girls and four boys were born. The 25-year-old also survived the dramatic birth, when she had to have a blood transfusion after losing significant amounts of blood. According to Guinness World Records, eight live children is the current birth record, and they are now working to verify this birth. In 2009, American Nadya Suleman made headlines around the world when she became the mother of eight children.
