Former ‘Wittekerke’ actor Hugo Metsers (53) is heavily discredited. A former student filed a complaint against the Dutch actor and teacher for assault and sexually transgressive behaviour.

The case started rolling afterthe Dutch newspaper De Volkskrant At the end of February, he published an article in which Metsers was accused of abuse of power. Several former students of the acting school he founded said that they “felt unsafe”. For example, they had to go further than they wanted to during nude scenes in the Functional Nude course.
Hugo Metsers, who around 1997 played the role of the taciturn musician Joe in Wittekerke, does not identify with the allegations. He has resigned from his role as a teacher.
