The Chief Executive Officer of Super Air Jet, Ari Azhari, opened his voice about the history of the Super Air Jet airline which was introduced in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic situation.

Ari Azhari explained that the Super Air Jet was established in March 2021. This airline already has the flight code “IU” from IATA (International Air Transport Association) and “SJV” from ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization).

“Super Air Jet is a new private airline in the category of daily scheduled passenger transportation services that originates from Indonesia and is fully owned by the participation of local people (domestic),” he said in an official statement, Monday (3/5/2021).

That way, Super Air Jet was founded with 100 percent domestic capital. This means the establishment of the Super Air Jet performed without capital injections from abroad or foreign capital.

The people behind Super Air Jet operations are also not new to the Indonesian aviation business. Ari Azhari himself was recorded as having held an important position at the Lion Air airline as General Manager of Lion Group Service.

No doubt, this airline is widely associated with the Lion Group, so that Lion Air boss Rusdi Kirana is said to be the one who founded and owner of Super Air Jet.

Even so, it seems that Super Air Jet is not part of or a subsidiary of the Lion Group. Lion Air’s Corporate Communications Strategic, Danang Mandala Prihantoro in his short message to Kompas.com said that the Super Air Jet is different or separate from the Lion Group.

It’s just that, when asked whether the Super Air Jet was financed by Rusdi Kirana, Danang did not provide an answer until this article was compiled.

What is clear, in his statement, Ari Azhari had a chance to review the existence of human resources (HR) who have decades of experience in operating the Super Air Jet.

“Super Air Jet was founded by practitioners who have experience in managing and running flight operations and are supported by human resources (HR) that meet qualification standards, so that they are able and master in the field of duty according to their profession, “he said.

“Super Air Jet has standardized training for management, all crew members, employees in order to further improve security and service to future passengers,” he continued.

He previously also explained that currently his party was preparing to prepare to take off through the various stages and procedures required.

The preparation refers to the provisions in order to prepare for the inaugural flight, which is scheduled in the near future.

“Super Air Jet was founded on the basis of optimism that market opportunities, especially the need for domestic flights, still exist and are wide open, there is a very strong demand from the public for air travel today, especially millennials,” he said.

According to him, this is in accordance with the geographical conditions of Indonesia as an archipelagic country, so that air transportation in the effort to move people and goods is needed, in line with inter-regional connectivity so that it is well connected and created.

“Super Air Jet is designed and prepared to enable many people (passengers) to be able to travel using airplanes for tourism, education, young business people and visiting various favorite destination cities,” he said.

Ari Azhari explained that the main focus of this airline is to offer a low-cost concept with direct intercity flights point-to-point in the domestic market and will later expand to international routes.

“In the early stages, Super Air Jet will operate a new generation fleet, namely the Airbus 320-200 with a capacity of 180 economy class seats, comfortable class, ergonomic seats,” he said.
