A Jordanian woman managed to defraud 3 insurance companies by fabricating her death and obtaining a sum of one and a half million dinars ($2 million) with a life insurance receipt.
A Jordanian security source revealed to “Sky News Arabia” that the investigations revealed a scheme carried out by his master in partnership with a number of people at the end of last year.
The woman took out life insurance with 3 Jordanian insurance companies, and after a period of time, specifically in October, the woman’s death was announced, a funeral was held, and a mourning house was opened. After that, she began preparing the papers required to obtain the insurance amount through a number of lawyers.
Suspicion arose among the employees of the insurance companies, especially when they did not obtain a medical file for the woman, so the security services opened an investigation into the death incident, to find out that the death incident was not true. The grave in which they claimed the woman was buried was exhumed, so that a model of a “plastic toy” that was buried in the grave was found.
Sky News Arabia reviewed a letter addressed to the insurance companies by the Jordanian Insurance Federation, which included information on the case and ensured cooperation with Public Security to prevent the recurrence of fraud and uncover any previous fraud.
