With one player less and a goal at the end, the Cuiabá got an exciting 2-2 draw with the Ceará tonight (11), at Arena Pantanal, in Cuiabá-MT, for the 11th round of the Brazilian Championship. Elton, Rick, Jael and Jenison scored in the match.
With the result, Vozão maintains the series of seven games without losing in the competition and, with 15 points, is in 11th position. Cuiabá, on the other hand, has not yet won and is with 6 points, in 18th place.
In the next round, Ceará receives the Athletic Paranaense at Castelão, at 5 pm on Saturday (17). Cuiabá plays on Sunday (18), at 11 am, in front of the Chapecoense, at Arena Condá.
Cuiabá takes the lead, Ceará turns and takes a draw at the end
Ceará started better, finishing three times with danger in the first 20 minutes. But Cuiabá reacted and, at 25, opened the scoring with Elton, head. Vozão was already under pressure when Pepê was sent off, 39 minutes into the first half, forcing Jorginho’s team to close and retreat even further.
In the second half, pressure from Ceará continued, and the tie came with Rick, who submitted a low submission to score when João Carlos left. Nine minutes later, after a cross from the left, Jael’s header put the visitors ahead. At 48, the bucket of cold water for Ceará: Jenison took advantage of Rafael Gava’s kick and tied for Dourado.

Pepe’s expulsion generates Jorginho’s revolt
Pepê’s expulsion in the first half, after two yellow cards, generated revolt and many complaints on the part of Cuiabá’s technical committee, especially Jorginho. After the midfielder’s punishment, the coach complained about the refereeing of Edina Alves throughout the game.
In the first move, 34 minutes into the game, Pepê took the yellow card for complaint. In the second, he stopped an attack from Ceará with a shirt tug.
Cuiabá still doesn’t win
