The Buffalo Sabers clinched an important 3-2 overtime win over the New York Rangers to stay in contention for the playoffs. Although Moritz Seider succeeds in making an assist, he is clearly defeated by the Detroit Red Wings 2:6 at the Winnipeg Jets.

The Buffalo Sabers had goaltender Devon Levi to thank in large part in their 3-2 overtime win over the New York Rangers. The 21-year-old, who only signed an entry-level contract on March 17, made 31 saves on his NHL debut to become the game’s man of the game.

National player JJ Peterka gave Buffalo a 1-0 lead in the first half after a “no-look pass” by Dylan Cozens. It was the eleventh goal of the season and 31st scoring point for the Munich player, who was named the third star of the game after the game. After Jordan Greenway made it 2-0, Rangers equalized to make it 2-2 with goals from Kappo Kakko and Adam Fox. Jeff Skinner scored the winning goal after 1:50 minutes of overtime.

After their third win in the past four games (3-0-1), the Sabers reduced the gap to a wildcard spot that the Pittsburgh Penguins (84) currently hold by 79 points to just five points with an even bigger one to complete lot.

For Moritz Seider there was nothing to gain in the 2:6 with the Detroit Red Wings at the Winnipeg Jets. With just seven games left of the season, Detroit is nine points adrift of the playoff spots. After all, Seider contributed an assist to David Perron’s goal to make it 6-1. The 21-year-old national defender received the most playing time of his team with 22:07 minutes and already has 39 points (five goals, 34 assists) on his account.

Jason Robertson led the Dallas Stars with four points (one goal, three assists) to a 5-2 win against the Arizona Coyotes. In the Canadian duel, the Calgary Flames beat the Vancouver Canucks 5-4 in overtime thanks to double goalscorer Tyler Toffoli and are now just two points off the playoff ranks.
