The petition, which now has over 9,000 signatories, starts with a few swipes against Microsoft: After more than 10 years of “poisoning education”, “invading privacy” and “endangering security”, you would now have the opportunity to to correct past mistakes. There are three key requirements:
1. Windows 7 should become free software
2. No need to use the latest version of Windows
3. More evidence that users and their freedom are respected by Microsoft
The concept of free software goes beyond sharing the source code. Among other things, it also allows changes and further publications of the software.-
