Windows 11 has arrived with a new look and lots of features. Right from the start, the new Start menu and a redesigned taskbar stand out. However, and although the majority of users liked the news, there are several that do not conform and do not accept Microsoft’s decisions at all. If you are in this last group, don’t worry. This is because luckily there are many applications that make customization easier. From bringing back the classic start menu to having an animated background, these are the best apps for customizing everything on your Windows 11 PC.
Windows 11: the best apps to customize everything!
Of the five options we’ll talk about next, two are paid (one is not yet) and the other three are free.
Start11
The Start menu is perhaps the most controversial aspect of the Windows 11 design. Microsoft moved away from live tiles and removed several customization options in the Start menu. However you can bring back most things with Start11. Furthermore, a future update will even bring the option to drag the taskbar to the top or sides of the screen. It costs 5.99 Euros. More information on here.
RoundedTB
This application allows you to customize the Windows 11 taskbar. With it, you can round the corners of the taskbar, divide the bar into segments and add margins. The application can also make the Windows 11 taskbar act as a floating dock.
It is available at Microsoft store.
Lively Wallpaper
With this application, you can set GIFs, videos and web pages as your PC’s desktop. It was recently updated to support Windows 11, so it should work well with Microsoft’s new operating system. Is available on here.
Files
Native File Explorer received a minor update for Windows 11 but it’s not all that different. Files is a third-party file manager with a modern design. Works well with touch or a mouse and keyboard. Recently received a major update before Windows 11.
StartIsBack: another of the apps to customize everything in Windows 11
The preview version of StartIsBack is free, at least for now, and includes very interesting functions. That said, we have a classic design for the toolbar with the option to make it look like the Windows 10 or Windows 7. But we can do more things, including in File Explorer. That said, it’s possible to replace the new Windows 11 interface with the banner that was in Windows 10 and Windows 7.
But of course the focus is on the Start menu. So with StartIsBack we get a classic start menu that works similarly to what happened in Windows 7. But it goes even further. It is possible to choose or not for round corners as in Windows 11, or sharper as in Windows 10. It is also possible to put everything the same as Windows 7. At the same time we can customize colors.
