William and Catherine visit Jamaica and pay tribute to Bob Marley

The visit to the island is part of a tour William and Catherine will be making from Saturday March 19 to Saturday March 26 to mark Queen Elizabeth’s reign. The 95-year-old queen has been on the throne for seventy years this year and that is also celebrated in the countries that are members of the Commonwealth of Nations.

William and Catherine begin their journey in Belize, where they visit Mayan temples, among other things. Jamaica is the second stop, after which the couple concludes the trip in the Bahamas. There, the prince and his wife witness a Junkanoo, a procession with lots of music and dance that symbolizes the liberation from slavery.

At various times, William and Catherine reflect on the impact of the corona crisis in the Caribbean. The couple says they are looking forward to the trip, the first foreign trip for them together since the start of the corona crisis.
