Sywert van Lienden is certainly not the only one who has benefited from the pandemic. Virus mad Willem Engel has used donations for Virus Truth to buy a plot of land on the Spanish island of Fuerteventura for 50,000 euros.
The transaction came to light during a lawsuit that Engel filed against ING. Earlier this year, the bank had blocked Virus Truth’s account, fearing the cult leader would use even more donation money for private purposes.
The judge ruled that ING should not have frozen the account of Virus Truth, but was critical of the way in which Engel used the donations of corona deniers. The Gelderlander reports:
According to the bank, there was no evidence that Engel had been transparent with his donors about the use of donations for private purposes or that the donors had agreed to this. The dance teacher reacts with surprise to this allegation. “We have been completely transparent. Incidentally, it is not at all up to ING to find out about this, all documents have been filed with the Chamber of Commerce.”
