Relegation, relegation, relegation – anything can still happen at Werder Bremen. Which scenarios lead to which results? Arithmetic games before the penultimate match day.
Bremen – After the late and therefore all the more bitter 1: 2 defeat at RB Leipzig SV Werder Bremen the relegation still not in the bag two games before the end of the season. After a very reasonable Bundesliga season for a long time, is it still going back to the lower house? Unlikely, but not impossible – the DeichStube clears up.
This is how Werder Bremen manages to stay up in the league:
If Werder Bremen scores two or more points, everything is clear.
If Werder gets another point, it wouldn’t necessarily be the arithmetical rescue, but it would still be almost certain that they would stay up. Because the current table-12. (then 36 points) could no longer from table 17. VfB Stuttgart (currently 29, -15 goals) and from the one lying on the relegation place FC Schalke 04 (30, -34) to be caught. With two wins (against Frankfurt and in Leipzig), the royal blue would also have to make up for the goal difference, which is 22 goals worse. That’s utopian! (By the way, Werder can no longer be caught by Hertha BSC, bottom of the table.)

If Werder Bremen don’t get a point,…
… would have to be in addition to Stuttgart (in Mainz and against Hoffenheim) and Schalke VfL Bochum (31, -35) actually win everything. Because four points from Bochum’s remaining program (at Hertha BSC and against Leverkusen) would not be enough to overtake Bremen due to the current goal difference of 23 goals.
… would have to be the one in 14th place TSG Hoffenheim (32, -11) win against Union Berlin next weekend and then lose against Kellerkind Stuttgart on Matchday 34. Hoffenheim should not lose the goal difference that is one goal better than SVW.
… would have to be Bremen’s table neighbor FC Augsburg (34, -16) get at least one point from their games against Dortmund and in Gladbach, although Werder would also have to gamble away their goal difference, which is currently four goals higher. With at least two points, FCA would certainly be ahead of Werder.
Fulfill two teams don’t do their homework if the Bremen team ended the season without a point rescue. Would have to sit in detention in the relegation Werder Bremen, if one of the opponents does not get the necessary points. (tos/mwi)
