“Dancing With The Stars” star Maksim Chmerkovskiy (42) has reunited with his New Zealand wife after fleeing a war-torn Ukraine.

The Ukrainian, who is a popular TV celebrity in the US, not least as a professional dancer in “Shall we dance”, recently returned to Kyiv to participate in a competition. While he was there, started Russia to invade.
After spending a few days in a bomb room, Chmerkovskiy boarded a train to Poland. TMZ shows video of the emotional reunion with his wife Peta Murgatroyd (35) at the airport in Los Angeles on Wednesday.
Along the way, Chmerkovskiy is said to have witnessed separations between fathers and children. In contrast to the influx of refugees, the Ukrainian had a home to travel to in the United States and a waiting family. He and his wife have a son together.
«I’m in Warsaw. At the hotel. I’m not good», wrote Chmerkovskiy on Instagram Wednesday morning – before he flew to the United States.
–Chmerkovskiy has stated that while in Ukraine, he was encouraged to acquire a firearm and watch YouTube videos to learn how to use it. But instead, he chose to use his own mobile phone as a weapon – by documenting to the outside world via social media.
He has filmed while standing on the balcony with howling sirens and alarms around him.
«I will never be the same again. This is stressful, and old feelings are brought to life“, Chmerkovskiy wrote on Instagram this weekend.
The dance star was 14 years old when he and his family emigrated to the United States.
«This feels the same as when we traveled in the 90’s. The post-traumatic illnesses I had finally overcome are coming back», Writes the 42-year-old.
He describes the heavy feeling of always having to be on guard.
«But now I had finally started to worry about what kind of grill I should use. I’m crying as I write this, because all men deserve to be able to worry about barbecues and not a fucking war», He writes.
Chmerkovskiy has 1.1 million followers on Instagram, and he is now asking everyone to spread the word:
«There is ALWAYS another solution! WAR is NEVER the answer».
