According to the Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadiah, what Benzema suffered during the derby was nothing but a minor muscle strain, which he suffered as a result of the effort he exerted throughout the match.

The newspaper explained that the injury is not worrisome, but the Tigers captain will undergo a rehabilitation program during the current hiatus, under the supervision of his personal coach Javier Atalaia, to return before returning to the resumption of Roshen League matches.

It is noteworthy that the derby ended with Al-Ahly winning with a single goal, scored by Ivorian Franck Kessier, during the first half of the match.
