The official responsible for “Wildlife Secrets,” Jamal Al-Balushi, told Emirates Al-Youm that the festival’s hosting of the event this year aims to achieve a state of communication between the public and wildlife, including its diverse creatures, and raise awareness of the importance of concerted efforts in order to achieve balance and protect the environment. , including the creatures it contains, especially the rare ones, as every individual can contribute to this goal, especially in the UAE, which pays great attention to sustainability, and turning it into a way of life for everyone residing on its land.

Regarding the nature of their participation in the Sheikh Zayed Festival, Al Balushi explained: “This year we are offering approximately eight activities, which we hope will be an addition that combines benefit and enjoyment for festival visitors of all ages. The activities vary between horse riding, caring for animals, playing with them and feeding them, and the Monkey House and the Bird House. And the House of Reptiles and (Kofi Al-Nawader), and all of these activities include rare or endangered animals, so that the public can get to know them closely, and teach children how to deal with them gently, and all of these activities are done in a way that takes into account the safety of visitors, as well as the animals, and applies the concepts of sustainability and preservation. the environment”.

Al Balushi added that the total number of creatures included in “Wildlife Secrets” amounts to approximately 400, including 50 species of birds and more than 200 reptiles, pointing out that the birds present include different species, including raptors, small parrots, and Hornbill parrots, which It includes three different species, and macaws that are divided into 10 rare mutations.

While reptiles include rare species, including the spider turtle, which is one of three in the Arab world, the rhino laguana, of which there are only 12 in the Arab world, and four of which are present at the festival, and the gharial crocodile, which is not found in the Arab world, in addition to the Siamese crocodile. It is distinguished by its white color, and it is one of 18 crocodiles in the Arab world. Among the rare animals are the snow leopard, the Siberian mantis tiger, in addition to dwarf cows, and other animals that attract family visitors to the festival and interact with them remarkably.

Al Balushi pointed out that the place also includes the “Al Nawader Café,” which contains a group of albino animals, which suffer from melanin deficiency disease, also known as albinism, which affects humans and animals. Among the animals found in the place are the raccoon, crocodile, and peacock, as the café provides Visitors have a space to see unique animals and learn information about them and how special they are due to the mutation they have.

Al Balushi stated that the place is not just a miniature zoo, but rather seeks to provide an educational and educational experience for visitors in an atmosphere of fun and happiness, in a way that encourages adults and children to interact with this experience.
