‘Wild ‘N Out’ Star Ms Jacky Oh Dies at 32: Remembering Her Legacy as a Comedian and Mother

The Wild ‘N Out family has lost a member. Ms Jacky Oh, who rose to fame on the MTV and VH1 comedy show, has died, a BET Media Group spokesperson confirmed. She was 32 years old. “We are deeply saddened by the passing of Jacklyn Smith, known to the world as Jacky Oh, a talented member of the ‘Wild N’ Out’ family whose influence will be forever cherished and missed,” read a statement shared on the show’s social media pages on June 1, 2023. “Jacky Oh was a bosom friend and beloved cast member of ‘Wild N’ Out’ for five seasons.”

Jacky Oh is dead

Jacky Oh was the mother of three children. Six-year-old Nova and two-year-old Nala, and eleven-month-old son Prince – which she shared with the “Wild ‘N’ Out” star, longtime boyfriend DC Young Fly. The statement continued: “BET Media Group extends our sincere condolences to the Smith family, DC Young Fly, B Simone, Nick Cannon and all friends who have loved and cared for Jacky Oh during this difficult time.” The cause of death was not given. According to TMZ Jacky Oh was in Miami at the time of his death. Her last social media activity was on May 27, when she shared a YouTube video of her and her children going to see The Little Mermaid.

Jacky Oh’s career

“Wild ‘N Out” is an American sketch comedy and improv battle rap game show created and hosted by musician and comedian Nick Cannon. Jacky Oh joined “Wild ‘N Out” in 2014’s sixth season helping out the other stars with sketches. According to the star, she landed the role after being invited to audition by Nick Cannon through his assistant. She first met DC Young Fly in a hotel lobby in 2015, the same year she became a cast member of the show. Jacky Oh thought the comedian was “so cute” when they met, though she admitted it wasn’t love at first sight. “I liked him,” she recalled in an interview with DJ Smallz Eyes in 2017. “We had a similar vibe.” After leaving “Wild ‘N Out” in 2020, Jacky Oh launched her own lip gloss company and began her career in real estate. However, her favorite role was being a mother of three children. “I do a lot, but being a mom is my favorite activity,” she wrote on Instagram on May 14 for Mother’s Day. “God chose me three times. I promise I’ll never take it for granted. I’m damn blessed!”
