On June 26, one of Twitch’s best streamers, Dr Disrespect, was suddenly suspended from the platform. Sources have alleged that the star has been permanently banned from the streaming service. Here’s everything we know so far about the shock.
For more than half a decade, Dr. Disrespect had become the face of Twitch for many. Played by Guy Beahm, the action hero character of the 80s and his production at the film level made him a success with the spectators.

The suspension of Dr. Disrespect’s account was first reported by the Twitch partner tracking ban account “StreamerBans” on Twitter. The tweet revealed that the personality channel had been removed from the site.
Apart from declaring that Doc had “acted in violation” of Community directives, no explanation was given as to what he had done.
However, soon after, industry insider Rod ‘Slasher’ Breslau tweeted “Sources: DrDisrespect has been permanently banned from Twitch” before continuing to clarify “Sources: it’s not because of DMCA”.

Twitch community reacts to news
Streamer and former Twitch staffer ShannonZKiller fueled speculation on social media when she claimed to know why the star was banned and said it was “serious” in a now-deleted tweet. “From my own sources: Doc is well and truly over, and not just on Twitch. I know why and I can’t say. But it’s serious”she said.

Twitch reimburses Dr Disrespect subscriptions
A few hours after the ban of the double champion, viewers began to report that Twitch had refunded their subscriptions to its channel, as well as the removal of its emotes from the platform.
While there is yet no official confirmation of the length of the suspension, many have taken Twitch’s steps to reimburse subscriptions as confirmation that the ban is indeed permanent.
His wife speaks and thanks the fans
Dr Disrespect’s wife, Mrs Assassin, expressed herself through an Instagram story late June 26. In the press release, she thanked the fans for their “love, support, strength and kindness”.
Although the letter did not reveal anything more, it was the first time anyone had heard anything from Doc’s camp. Mrs Assassin has often been presented as a character during her livestreams.

Dr. Disrespect finally speaks
On the evening of June 27, a day after his suspension from Twitch, the streamer finally broke his silence with a statement on Twitter.
“Champions Club, Twitch did not inform me of the exact reason for its decision,” he tweeted.

However, he did not confirm whether the rumors that the ban was final were true. However, if Twitch hasn’t confirmed the reasoning behind it yet, they probably haven’t disclosed the length either.
