Why there is a threat of a shortage of toilet paper worldwide

The fear of the panic shoppers – as became all too clear during the first lockdown last year – is becoming reality: there is a threat of a shortage of toilet paper. The world’s largest producer of wood pulp, the raw material for toilet paper, reports that the global container crisis could soon cause supply problems. Those problems are compounded by the ship currently blocking the Suez Canal.
