The fourth high school in Colombes, with a capacity of 1,200 students, should be delivered at the start of the 2024 school year in the Fossés-Jean district and will accommodate high school students from Colombes and the north of Asnières and Gennevilliers. The first high school in Bagneux, which has been in question for about fifty years, should be opened in 2026 in the Mathurins district.

But this is only a provisional date not yet confirmed. It has been included in the forecast investment plan for the region since 2017. It will also welcome 1,200 students in general courses with cultural options, around the circus, and innovative around sustainable development.
But, for some, these projects are not enough. Nadège Azzaz, mayor (PS) of Châtillon and regional councilor, continues to advocate for the construction of a high school in his town. The land has already been found in the Arues area and a safeguard perimeter has been established there. The city council argues recurring allocation problems in its territory.

This summer in Châtillon alone, we had about thirty unassigned students, the high schools in the area are overflowing everywhere. The densification of our cities with the arrival of the Grand Paris Express stations will only amplify the phenomenon and the Bagneux high school will not be able to accommodate all the children, which is not satisfactory. “
Closures in the professional sector
Thus, according to his firm, the Jacques-Monod high school in Clamart, which accommodates a large part of the Châtillonnais students, had more than 1,300 students in 2019 for a maximum capacity of 1,240 high school students. Other high schools in the department are also overloaded according to the Snes. These include the Descartes high school in Antony and Galilée in Gennevilliers.
