Rio Ferdinand throws up a little every time Harry Kane scores a hat-trick. The former defender says this in his podcast Five. Ferdinand finds it difficult to accept that the English striker switched to Bayern Munich this summer instead of Manchester United.
Kane left Tottenham Hotspur this summer after no fewer than 430 games and 278 goals for an adventure in the Bundesliga. Negotiations between Spurs and Bayern took a long time, but an agreement was reached in mid-August for 95 million euros.

Erik ten Hag and United were also busy looking for a new striker this summer. Anthony Martial has struggled to stay fit for a long period of time and that is why the Red Devils signed 20-year-old Rasmus Højlund from Atalanta for 75 million euros.
During the negotiations for that deal, Ten Hag was asked several times why his club did not go for Kane. “We have made our choice (Højlund, ed.) and we are happy with it,” the Dutch manager said at the time.
Ferdinand still has difficulty with the fact that Kane cannot be admired at Old Trafford this season. “His third hat-trick!”, the former man is referring to the Bayern striker’s goal production. “Every time I see Kane’s name with a hat-trick and the match ball I have to puke a little.”
“Then I think: why?! Why didn’t we (Manchester United, ed.) sign him?!,” said Ferdinand. While Kane made history with seventeen goals in his first eleven league games for Bayern, Højlund is still waiting for his first goal in the Premier League.
The eight-time Denmark international has not yet found the net in the first nine competition matches and has not yet provided an assist. However, Højlund is on a roll in the Champions League: after four games the counter has already reached five goals. This makes the left-footed joint top scorer of the billion-dollar ball together with Álvaro Morata.
