Why does your body burn less food at night … Your stomach knows where?

“Stop eating at night so that you do not become obese”, this sentence is the prescription and magic recipe that nutritionists recommend to their patients to help them lose weight, and some may wonder about how the stomach differentiates between night and day?

We review how the stomach and the human body perceive this and the validity of this saying, according to the “healthline” website on human health.

The idea that eating at night makes you gain weight stems from animal studies, which indicate that the body may use the calories consumed differently after a certain time of the day.

Some researchers assume that eating at night interferes with the circadian rhythm and the natural melatonin hormone produced by the body at night, as it helps the brain distinguish between morning and evening times, and regulate sleep cycles.

Thus regulating our internal circadian rhythm, which is a 24-hour cycle that tells your body when to fall asleep, eat and wake up. According to your daily rhythm, the night is for rest, not eating.

In fact, many animal studies support this theory: mice that eat against their daily rhythm gain much more weight than mice that only eat during their waking hours, even if they eat the same amount of food.

And those who eat after 8 PM, consume more calories than those who previously consumed them. The extra calories consumed by latecomers can lead to weight gain.

But there are other studies that confirm that the number of calories a person consumes and becomes able to burn them is more important than the time you eat your food, if you eat the calories that your body needs and are able to burn them, then you get an ideal weight.
