Hakim Ziyech into the spotlight after scoring for Chelsea in the match with Brighton & Hove Albion. He was criticized for not celebrating.
Chelsea drew 1-1 when they visited Brighton on Wednesday (19/1/2022) early morning WIB. Ziyech put Chelsea ahead in the first half, equalized by Adam Webster.
Ziyech’s goal was scored in the 28th minute. The former Ajax player netted the ball from a long-range kick.
After scoring, Ziyech calm. He did not celebrate, his team-mates approached the 28-year-old for a hug.
Former Chelsea player, Joe Cole, highlighted Ziyech’s reaction after scoring a goal. Cole could not accept Ziyech’s action.
“That’s what you play for. He’s an incredible talent, he doesn’t take advantage of opportunities in the Premier League because it’s different from the Dutch league. But not celebrating goals… that’s unacceptable as a member of the team,” Cole said. BT Sport.
“If he was in my team I would say come on. You know when a player is not happy and they don’t play. But when I come off the bench and score goals, it’s a release of energy,” said Cole again.
Ziyech recruited by Chelsea from Ajax at the start of the 2020/2021 season. This season, Ziyech has recorded 5 goals and 4 assists in 23 matches in all competitions.
