While Michael Jordan and LeBron James are constantly being compared since the broadcast of The Last Dance, Carmelo Anthony is not a big fan.
The release of The Last Dance in April only fueled the comparisons between LeBron James and Michael Jordan. The two men are on everyone’s lips when it comes to choosing a GOAT, enough to exasperate some people.
Indeed, for several weeks, many NBA personalities have given their opinion on the debate. If there’s one who doesn’t seem to be a fan of all of this, it’s Carmelo Anthony.
In a recent interview with CBS Sports, the winger returned to this “duel”:
I do not like it. And I say this because when we compare them, we fail to appreciate what we have in front of us. Whenever these comparisons are made, whoever – old school versus new school – I think, why can’t we just appreciate everyone for what they bring?

While Melo doesn’t like to compare Jordan to LeBron, he did admit that His Airness was the GOAT. No question, however, of denying the King’s talent:
You know, MJ is the GOAT. He is the greatest player of all time. We all know this and we all agree on it. Why can’t we say that, and also throw flowers at LeBron while he’s there? Why not say: “MJ was great, LeBron is great, Kobe is great too. ”
We do not have the right to say that today, because it is always one or the other, and it is our society – we must necessarily choose one.
Many will agree with Melo’s supposed words here. If the loss of Kobe Bryant made us understand something, it is that you have to know how to profit and stop comparisons. Whether you vote for Jordan or LeBron, you have to be able to appreciate these unique talents in the history of basketball.
Carmelo Anthony brings a different view on the Jordan / LeBron debate. Difficult to disagree with him on this one.
