Anthem is one of those games that has long served as a demonstration that a project with great potential can become a huge disaster. And now we have the reason why the start of this work failed. According to one of the developers Iana Saterdalena this project was supposed to take just 15 months to develop, which is fascinating considering that game production is often spread over a number of years. However, the short development wasn’t the only thing the creator talked about. Apparently, the team had sufficient awareness of the imperfect state of their creation and still released it into the world. However, he thinks that if the studio manages to pull off a sequel, it would be “great.”
If you’re wondering how it was possible that development only took 15 months, it must have been because many of the team members were working 90-hour weeks, according to Saterdalen. He also honestly believed that Anthem could be made better, but in the end the full debugging never happened because the manpower was needed elsewhere.
I learned a lot on this project. We knew it wasn’t ready, as this game was literally created in 15 months. Which is unheard of for a game that scope. Anthem 2 would have been great! pic.twitter.com/JJkpUf9DqX
