So, in order to buy an apartment, Ukrainians will have to explain the source of this amount, which will be extremely difficult if the salary was “gray”.

It is noteworthy that to start an audit, the tax service does not need a bank appeal about monetary transactions carried out by a particular client.

The IRS itself will issue inquiries to banks about clients’ financial transactions.

In addition, a financial institution will be obliged in some cases to independently apply to law enforcement agencies, to the tax authorities. This applies to those situations when the bank managed to disclose the financial fraud of its client.

Also, the bank will be obliged to conduct checks and monitor the operations of its client. In addition, the bank must make sure that the client earned his money legally.

Voluntary one-time declaration:

June 15, 2021 Verkhovna Rada passed the law on the voluntary one-time declaration of assets of individuals (No. 5153), which provides for a one-time (special) voluntary declaration of assets of individuals from July 1, 2021 to July 1, 2022, from which taxes and fees have not been paid in accordance with the requirements of the law.

July 16, 2021 President Volodymyr Zelensky signed laws on carrying out a one-time voluntary declaration of assets.

The declaration will be carried out from September 1, 2021 to September 1, 2022. Anyone who submits a declaration and pays the fee within the specified period of time will be exempted from liability for tax evasion.

Declaration under the “tax amnesty” program will be carried out at three property rates: the first rate – 5%: applies to any assets located in Ukraine; the second rate is 2.5% if the citizen decides to invest money in government securities issued by the Ministry of Finance; the third rate is 7% for the first half of the year, 9% for the second, if there is a desire to declare foreign assets.
