Who will be chef locale 2023?

In November, for such a project, they challenge restaurants in the Bruges Ommeland to develop a dish with local parsnips. The intention is to process this delicious seasonal vegetable from head to toe to prevent food loss.

From Tielt to Oudenburg, from Damme to Torhout… you will find participating restaurants everywhere. The best news? You can also vote to see who can win the title of “Chef Locale 2023”. Customers can taste and rate the dish at participating restaurants to help decide who will receive the audience award. In addition, a jury of experts will visit the ten best-scoring restaurants to award two of them the title “Chef Locale 2023”.

Until the end of November you can visit one of the participating restaurants to taste their dish with parsnips and give your opinion about their creation.

After the competition, the ten best-scoring recipes will be bundled in a book, together with tips and information about their local producers.
