WHAT in fact Electoral College and why is the US using this unique system?
Electoral College provided for in Article 2 Paragraph 3 of the US Constitution. This system was chosen as a compromise between the two camps, namely those who want the president to be elected by the DPR and those who want the president to be directly elected by the people.
Electoral College also chosen by the US Founding Fathers to prevent charismatic populist candidates who are adept at exploiting voter fear, anxiety, and anger from winning the presidential election.
Such candidate figures are often mentioned demagogue campaigning with a demagogy of sowing hatred and stirring up voter emotions without offering real solutions to the root of the problem.
