– On the 26th, the first day of vaccination for the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19), the nation’s’No. 1 vaccination’ was born in Seoul.

From 9 am on that day, vaccinations began for hospitalized, residents and workers under the age of 65 at public health centers and nursing hospitals across the country. The government did not officially designate the’No. 1 vaccination’, but Lee Gyeong-soon (61), who received the vaccination 15 minutes earlier than 9 o’clock, the original vaccination start time at the Nowon-gu, Seoul, became the first inoculation in Korea.

According to Nowon-gu, the vaccination was scheduled to start from 9 am on this day, but the steps of the vaccination subjects increased from around 8:30 am. Some nursing care workers left the house earlier than usual in anticipation that it would take time for vaccination, such as filling out a questionnaire, or visited a public health center as soon as they finished working overnight. In consideration of those waiting in the cold weather, the public health center started vaccination about 15 minutes ahead of time, which unintentionally gave birth to the first inoculator.

Lee Gyeong-soon, the protagonist of Vaccine No. 1 vaccination, is a nursing care worker working at the Sanggye Nursing Home in Seoul. Mr. Lee said, “I have been nervous about getting Corona 19, but the anxiety disappears when I get the vaccination,” he said. “There is no special reaction right now. I hope that all the people will get the vaccine as soon as possible.”

On this day, 5,266 residents and workers in 213 nursing facilities nationwide completed the vaccination. The consent rate for vaccination is high at 93.7%. The first dose of AstraZeneca is completed in early March, and the second dose is administered about 8 weeks later.
