The proceedings started a few minutes after hour 9 from the parliamentary oath of the representative of the Civic Coalition, Magdalena Łośko. After saying: “I vow, so help me God”, Łośko was officially sworn in, and the MPs gathered in the hall began to applaud. In turn, the Speaker of the Sejm, Szymon Hołownia, invited Łódź and another new MP, Anna Baluch, for a “courtesy coffee”.

Who is Magdalena Łośko? The new MP worked for Krzysztof Brejza
Magdalena Łośko comes from Inowrocław. She graduated in pedagogy from the Casimir the Great University in Bydgoszcz. Later, she also completed postgraduate studies in administration and management at the Warsaw School of Economics. Łośko is a long-time activist of the Civic Platform. Since 2008, she has held the position of director of Krzysztof Brejza’s parliamentary office. In 2010, she was elected as a city councilor in Inowrocław. Later, in 2014 and 2018, she was re-elected. She was also vice-chairman of the Inowrocław City Council.

In the elections of October 15, 2023, she ran for the Sejm from the Bydgoszcz district no. 4. She received the highest result among all the Civic Coalition candidates who did not get to the Sejm at that time (4,864 votes). wasps). However, the path to the plenary chamber of the Sejm was opened when Krzysztof Brejza took over Radosław Sikorski’s MEP mandate.
In December 2023, Donald Tusk appointed Sikorski as Minister of Foreign Affairs. After accepting the portfolio, he vacated his previously held mandate as MEP. His place in Brussels was taken by Krzysztof Brejza, who had previously been a member of the Polish parliament for 16 years. Therefore, he was replaced in the Sejm by another candidate from the KO electoral list, Magdalena Łośko. However, this is not her first term. The politician sat in the lower house of parliament already in 2019. At that time, she worked on the environmental protection committee, the education committee and the senior policy committee.
