Who Can Save IDR 50 Million Per Year?

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (OSH) Edhy Prabowo explained the large profits from marine cultivation, including cultivation shrimp by just optimizing pond shrimp.

He also compared it with the income of civil servants.

According to Edhy, 2,000 hectares of shrimp ponds can produce harvest as much as 12-15 tons. In several working visits, Edhy has seen a harvest of 10.8 tons of shrimp just by optimizing the existing ponds.

“I calculated that only 2,000 meters and half (shrimp pond), let alone (harvest) 5 tons, 3 tons if we use (optimization of the pond) is very good,” said Edhy in a collaborative activity between BRSDM and BLU-LPMUKP virtually. , Monday (26/10/2020).

When referring to the 10 tonnes per year harvest, said Edhy, farmers can earn Rp. 600 million per year. With details, the price of 1 kilo / 35 shrimp reaches Rp. 60,000. If the average price of shrimp is Rp. 80,000 / kilo, income can reach Rp. 800 million.

As much as 50 percent of Rp. 600 million can be used for production / operational costs, including the salary for the pond manager.

“The remaining Rp 300 million can be used for (paying) installments. If the Ministry of Health has a budget, it can be given (free of charge). But if you want (access) BLU-LPMUKP (Public Service Agency for the Management of Marine and Fisheries Business Capital) the interest is 3 percent per year, “said Edhy.

Let’s just say that Edhy said, Rp. 250 million from the harvest was used to pay installments. That way there is still Rp. 50 million left to save.

According to him, even a minister, it is not necessarily possible to save at least IDR 50 million / year, unless he has a side business such as a restaurant business or other businesses.

“Who can save, including the minister (Rp. 50 million / year)? I am sure the Head of the Quarantine Agency to save Rp. 50 million a year is now difficult. Civil servants like us find it difficult to have a lot of money if they follow the rules,” concluded Edhy.
