There is already a population group in Mexico City that can receive a second COVID-19 vaccine booster.
The capital government announced on Wednesday that older adults with comorbidities (illnesses) can request the “fourth dose.”
“Above all, we are recommending it for older adults with comorbidities,” said the Secretary of Health of Mexico City, Oliva López Arellano, at a press conference.
Later, the capital dependency specified in a tweet: “If you are an older adult, suffer from some comorbidity and four months have passed since you received the booster dose, it is recommended that you go from April 18 to any of the 187 Health Units or the 4 macro headquarters to apply an additional dose”.

COVID vaccination sites
Older people with comorbidities who wish to receive the second booster can go to 187 health units of the IMSS, ISSSTE and centers of the Ministry of Health of the capital, which can be consulted in this page. It is not necessary to be a beneficiary of these institutions to request the vaccine. An appointment is also not required.
Likewise, interested persons may attend four different macro-sites on the following dates:

- Jaime Torres Bodet Cultural Center: First, second doses and reinforcements with AstraZeneca to adults.
- Weapons Room: First, second doses and reinforcements with AstraZeneca to adults.
- 7 Call First, second doses and reinforcements with AstraZeneca to adults.
- Censis Marina: First, second doses and boosters with AstraZeneca to adults; first and second doses to young people from 15 to 17 years old and reinforcements, as well as to young people with comorbidities from 12 to 14 years old.
Announce massive closure of vaccination
The Mexico City government announced on Wednesday a mass closure of vaccination against COVID-19.
“Today we are going to announce two themes. The first is a massive closure of vaccination, of course it will continue in health centers, ”said the head of government, Claudia Sheinbaum, at a press conference.
As part of this plan, as of April 18, vaccination efforts will be intensified now in the 187 health units IMSS, ISSSTE and centers of the capital’s Ministry of Health.
