Who can Real Madrid play in the quarter-finals?

MADRID – Six teams have confirmed qualification for the round of 8 or the quarter-finals 2020/2021 Champions League . Real Madrid already knew the five opponents they could face in the top eight. Quarter-final draw and the semifinals will be held at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland, Friday (19/3/2021) at 12.00 CET or 18.00 WIB.

Real Madrid successfully secured tickets to the quarterfinals after eliminating the Italian SErie A representative, Atalanta. After winning the first leg 1-0, in the second leg Madrid silenced Atalanta 3-1. The aggregate score became 4-1 for Madrid’s victory.

So far, Los Blancos’ possible opponents in the open draw are English duo Liverpool and Manchester City, France’s Paris Saint-Germain, Germany’s Borussia Dortmund and Portugal’s FC Porto.

Two more teams have yet to finish, although it took a miracle for Lazio to overturn their 1-4 deficit against Bayern Munich. Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid’s match against Chelsea was still tight, even though Chelsea won 1-0 through Olivier Giroud’s away goal in the first leg.

The first leg of the quarter-finals will be played on April 6 and 7, while the second leg takes place a week later on April 13-14. Of those who have qualified, only Manchester City and PSG reached the last eight last season. However, Bayern and Atletico could have the opportunity to join them.
