The Revenue Agency speeds up reimbursements. Cash on arrival for those who sent the tax return by May 31st.

The eruption of Covid-19 has actually accelerated a process that has already started and which, after all, responds to a dictate also traced by the European Union and decidedly more initiated in other partner countries of the Old Continent. Basically, even those not too accustomed to the use of technology they ended up putting themselves on par, relying on the help of other people or rapidly developing their skills in this regard. Institutions have also decided to accelerate digital and technological services, encouraging access to electronic counters. And even the tax authorities have adapted, inviting taxpayers to consult their tax drawers on the Revenue Agency website to verify the presence of communications or notifications.

A real revolution has come with digital identity (especially Spid, but also Cie or Cns), which has become practically mandatory. And in fact, the simplification for accessing the branches or for obtaining documents has obtained the result of having limited the queues to “physical” offices, definitely convincing various entities to invest in remote operations. In a preponderant context of digitization, therefore, there is a need to adapt quickly. What is certain is that the simplification of accesses has definitely hit the mark. The Revenue Agency, for example, has improved proximity to citizens, both when it comes to knocking for collection and for the disbursement of reimbursements. Or various non-repayable contributions, due to the period of inflation.

Speaking of reimbursements and contributions, with the circular of 20 June (no. 21 / E), the Revenue Agency drew up the guidelines on the safeguarding of accounts and taxpayers. The strengthening of consultancy and prevention services, as well as greater attention to avoidance, are part of the institution’s strategy in terms of proximity to the citizen, as well as to public accounts. Indeed, the AdE has set up a videocall service to resolve some issues without the taxpayer being forced to go personally to their territorial headquarters. And be careful, because the reimbursement procedures are also different and faster. So much so that, according to what has emerged so far, the Revenue Agency she would be ready to pay in cashor by bank transfer, the refunds expected for the 730 Models. This is specified by the institution itself.

In the same circular, the AdE explained how the treatment of reimbursement procedures and non-repayable contributions represent a priority, so as not to lag behind with the practices and lighten the tax archive. In fact, providing immediate liquidity, especially in a period of inflation, could be an important incentive for the country’s economic development. Or, in this case, the ascent of the slope. Those who sent their tax returns by May 31 could therefore immediately receive the check or a direct refund, even in cash. Clearly, the institution will favor digital reimbursement systems.

Not to mention that, at this moment, talks with the Ministry of Economy would be active for another acceleration, this time on the reimbursement procedures of direct taxes. The objective, as is the case for VAT, is to arrange the payments to be made on the special accounts held in the name of the AdE. In practice, the repayments will arrive directly on the beneficiaries’ current accounts.
