The horror was great when the Belgian cyclist Remco Evenepoel on the Lombardy Tour from a bridge Fell 10 meters into the ravine. Investigations are now underway in the wake of this serious accident. But the course of the accident is not the subject of the investigation, the anti-doping commission CADF is investigating the 20-year-old cycling talent because of a white object.

A video is supposed to burden Evenepoel

The anti-doping commission is said to have received video material showing how sports director Davide Bramati removes a white object from the jersey pocket of the professional cyclist who is lying on the ground and puts it in his trouser pocket. Evenepoel’s racing team – Deceuninck-Quick Step – rejected any suspicions on Saturday: “As already mentioned publicly, the object that was removed from Remco’s pocket was a small bottle with nutritional supplements.”

Evenepoel’s racing team assured that the pockets had been emptied so that Evenepoel could lie more comfortably on the stretcher. The team also communicated this to the CADF. Team boss Patrick Lefevere reacted indignantly to the accusation of the anti-doping commission: “This is proof that the CADF is not neutral.”
