White House spokesman resigns after threatening journalist | NOW

White House spokesman TJ Ducklo got through Saturday night (local time) Twitter announced his resignation after becoming a political journalist from last week Politico intimidated and threatened. He was put on hold for a week on Friday, but has now decided not to return to his position.

Journalist Tara Palmeri, to Ducklo’s dismay, wanted to write an article about his relationship with a journalist of the medium Axios. Ducklo threatened in an off the record phone call to “destroy” her. In addition, he also made misogynistic comments and suggested that Palmeri was jealous.

The 32-year-old spokesman had already apologized personally to Palmeri earlier this week. He would be after his suspension already stop working with Politicojournalists.

“I cannot express in words how sorry I am and ashamed of my behavior. I used words that no woman should ever hear from anyone, not at all in a situation where someone was just doing her job,” Ducklo said in a statement. “My language was repugnant, disrespectful and unacceptable.”

According to Ducklo, he has embarrassed and disappointed his colleagues and President Joe Biden. After a conversation with his supervisors, he therefore offered his resignation. Ducklo says he is determined to learn from the incident. “This is not who I am and I am going to work to regain the trust of the people I have now disappointed.”

Biden threatened to be fired for ‘unacceptable behavior’

On his first day as president, Biden urged his staff to show respect for others. “I’m not kidding when I say this: if you work for me and I hear that you treat a colleague with disrespect, then I don’t hesitate for a second to fire you on the spot,” said the president less than a month ago.

Ducklo (32) has a relationship with Alexi McCammond from Axios. The two got to know each other during Biden’s election campaign. McCammond already decided to stop reporting on the White House to avoid a conflict of interest.
