The best washing powders for white fabrics – UOKiK ranking
Powders are the most frequently purchased type of laundry detergent in Poland. The choice is enormous, but the hardest to find a powder that will keep snow white.
– We present the results of the quality test for 10 washing powders for white fabrics – says Tomasz Chróstny, President of UOKiK.

UOKiK carried out great test washing powders. 10 washing powders for white fabrics were tested:

- Tandil Classic
- Ultra washing powder for white and light fabrics

Powders were bought in chain stores, local stores and discounters. The Office of Competition and Consumer Protection conducted almost 200 tests in its accredited UOKiK laboratory in Łódź, and received over 5,000 tests. results to check the quality of washing powders for white fabrics.
How did 10 popular brands deal with stain removal? See the UOKiK ranking!
Specialists from the UOKiK Laboratory checked and assessed, among others:
- the effectiveness of stain removal,
- the effect of the powder on the strength and shrinkage of the fabric after washing,
- compliance of the powder mass with the declaration on the packaging,
- the cost of the powder for one wash,
- ratio of the quality of products to their price.
To check how powders remove stains, employees of the UOKiK laboratory used ready-made cotton knitwear with a set of 15 types of standardized stains: blood, peat, grass, clay, carrot juice, butter, curry, fruit dessert for babies, used mineral oil, red wine, lard, tea, liquid foundation (make-up), chocolate ice cream or spaghetti sauce. The powders were dosed according to the label directions. The process was the same for each wash cycle.

After analyzing the test results, the powders were awarded points from 1 to 10. In this way, the ranking was created.
