Which iPad models can install iPadOS 17? News and update.

iPadOS 17 is still quite discreet. Indeed, the novelties from next major update of the iPad are not not yet known. However, a recent report d’iPhoneSoft has just provided us with important information: the apple tablets who can installer this version. We thus learn that three models would not no longer supported.

At the beginning of April 2023, we were treated to a first prediction from an anonymous Twitter source around the iPads compatible with iPadOS 17. As WWDC 2023 is fast approaching, a second report comes to corroborate his information.

The website iPhoneSofthaving already seen right around the list of iPhones that can install iOS 14, iOS 14 or even iOS 16, reveals to us that the following models will be able to benefit from it:

• 3rd generation, 4th generation and 5th generation iPad Air;
• 6th generation, 7th generation, 8th generation, 9th generation and 10th generation iPad;
• 5th generation and 6th generation iPad mini;
• iPad Pro 2nd Generation, 3rd Generation, 4th Generation, 5th Generation and 6th Generation.

We note that iPadOS 17 will not be supported by two models that could install iPadOS 16: the 5th generation iPad as well as the 9.7-inch and 12.9-inch 1st generation iPad Pro.

iPhoneSoft also takes the time to guess what’s new in the update: “a new control center, widgets and customization on the locked screen, a new version of Stage Manager and certainly other unexpected novelties”.

As a reminder, the French media had recently specified the list of iPhones that will be able to install the iOS 17 update.
