Sony released the PS5 in Europe on November 19, 2020, but it has since proven very difficult to get hold of a console. This has several causes, because the Japanese company has underestimated the demand and there is also a great shortage of chips. The shortages are expected to continue at least until the end of the summer, but we are monitoring the situation closely so that you may still be able to get started earlier.

Update 28/03 (13:45) → The Dutch market has again received a new shipment from Sony.
- NedGame will start today or tomorrow with the delivery of orders that were scheduled for ‘the end of March’. It may be that new ordering options are also offered.
- Amazon Netherlands has informed users who fell by the wayside last week that they can expect their order on March 30 or 31.
- Bol.com has not yet released any information, but deliveries are generally distributed among all Dutch retailers. The last drop happened almost a month ago, which is starting to increase the chances of new PS5 consoles again. The advice is to press the ” notify me ” button on the page of the PS5 of PS5 Digital Editionbecause they would be the first to be informed of new stock.
- BCC has cleared several open orders in the past few days, although we don’t expect them to be ready with the entire list yet.
- MediaMarkt took too many orders on Friday, March 19 and expects a new delivery on Tuesday. A large number of people have already received an email to pick up the PS5 at one of the branches at the end of this week.

PlayStation 5 Digital Edition
Update 24/03 (19:05) → Amazon Netherlands last Tuesday offered the Disk and Digital Edition of the PlayStation 5, but just as with the MediaMarkt, too many orders have been taken. The retailer will not cancel open orders, but it may still take a while before a new delivery is made. Some readers have received a message from Amazon that an expected delivery time will be added to the orders soon.
Update 22/03 (11:24) → The drop at the MediaMarkt took place last Friday and the PS5 has been online for a remarkably long time. Unfortunately, that turned out to be too long and there is now a huge waiting list that, according to the MediaMarkt, can last until July. It will therefore be quite some time before there will be a single sale there again. The situation at the other retailers is as follows:
- Bol.com – The last drop at Bol.com took place three weeks ago and that means that the next drop will not be long in coming. If you have made a mistake, it is advisable to press the ” notify me ” button on the page of the PS5 of PS5 Digital Editionbecause they would be the first to be informed of new stock.
- Coolblue – The bundles of Coolblue were temporarily available again through a lottery. A choice could be made from one PS5 with Spider-Man: Miles Morales and the 3D Pulse (€660), FIFA 21 met extra controller (€590) of Black Ops: Cold War with the SteelSeries Arctic 3 (€ 655). The PlayStation 5 is only available with accessories. Coolblue has now announced the winners.
- NedGame– At NedGame there was recently a pre-order possibility for one PS5 bundle. Delivery of these consoles is scheduled for the end of March. Stay NedGame Keep an eye out, because in case of cancellations the bundles come back online regularly. In addition, the shop has started delivering the first copies.
- Media Markt – The MediaMarkt took too many orders on Friday 19 March and currently has a long waiting list. It may take months before another single sale will take place.
- Game Mania – At the Game Mania is also making good progress and now they have arrived at orders placed in mid-September (PS5). Orders for the Digital Edition will be delivered from February 2021.
- Amazon – There was a drop last week Amazon Germany, France in Italy. It is still unknown when the next delivery will follow.
- Others – Bee Wehkamp it has been quiet for a few weeks and there is a good chance that something will happen soon, although we should note that there are still some open orders. The last drop at BCC took place on March 11.
