Where are parking permits for residents the most expensive? | Inland

All 352 municipalities have been investigated whether there are zones where residents need a permit to park their own car. More than four in ten municipalities have one or more zones in which such a permit is required. The price tag of such a permit not only differs greatly per municipality, but these costs sometimes also vary considerably within municipal boundaries, according to an analysis by data agency LocalFocus.

Car owners who live within the Singel of the Center of Amsterdam spend the most annually for a parking permit; about 568 euros. The cheapest permit in the capital – for residents of parts of the Noord district – is only 32 euros. The center of Utrecht is in second place. Inner city residents spend 442 euros annually to be allowed to park their car.

About six in ten municipalities have no parking permit zones at all. In addition, there are more than twenty municipalities where some residents do have to apply for a permit, but where there are no annual costs.
