This went on for years. I took care of the kids, he worked and did what he wanted. Meanwhile I was harassed by his ex-girlfriend and I couldn’t understand why. Turns out he was still sleeping with her. I didn’t know that at the time, but it was a clear explanation for the infections I had “from below” all the time. Cleaning lady
“At one point we got a cleaning lady to help with the cleaning. It was a very busy period: one of our children was sick and I just couldn’t get it to work. You guessed what happened, of course. My husband also did it with the cleaning lady. I found out because he suddenly had to ‘go away’ for a night, which was never the case normally. I called around and found out through the grapevine that he was with her.
This was my chance. Maybe he was focused enough on her to want a divorce now? This turned out to be the case. I brought up a divorce for the umpteenth time and he was actually fine with it. I am so grateful to that woman, she offered me a way out. Otherwise I don’t think I would have gotten rid of him.”
