When Jokowi almost forgot to say hello to Ma’ruf Amin …

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – President Joko Widodo almost forgot greet vice President Ma’ruf Amin.

This happened when the President opened the Kick Off Meeting on the Examination of the Management and Responsibility of State Finances in Handling the Covid-19 Pandemic, at the State Palace, Jakarta, Tuesday (8/9/2020).

After saying the opening greeting, as usual President Jokowi greeted one by one the officials present at the event.

However, Jokowi immediately greeted the chairmen, deputy chairmen and members of the Supreme Audit Agency. In fact, Jokowi should have greeted Ma’ruf Amin first.

Realizing his mistake, Jokowi immediately apologized to Ma’ruf, who was sitting not far from the podium.

“I’m sorry that the Vice President almost forgot. I respect the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia,” said Jokowi while looking at Ma’ruf.

After greeting Ma’ruf, Jokowi then continued to greet the advanced Indonesian cabinet ministers, as well as heads of non-ministerial institutions.

In his remarks, Jokowi stated that he supported the BPK investigation as soon as possible.

According to him, this examination is very important in efforts to deal with Covid-19 and economic recovery.

“So that this examination supports the implementation of activities to find solutions for new, better ways of dealing with the crisis,” said Jokowi.
