After more than three months without a game, there has finally been a plan for a few weeks how the 19/20 season should be continued and ended. There are still details to be clarified, but you can get a pretty good picture.
The NBA stopped playing on March 11 after Rudy Gobert (Utah Jazz) tested positive for the corona virus. After that, they spent months looking for a solution how to start the season again. Despite a number of complications, there is now one that the NBA was able to agree on with the NBPA players’ union.
When does the 2020 NBA season start again?
Beginning of the regular season: 30th July
(Possible) qualification tournament: 15.-16. August
Start of the playoffs: 17. August
Beginning of the conference semifinals: 31. August
Start of the Conference Finals: 15. September
Start of the NBA Finals: 30. September
(Possible game 7 of the finals): October 13th

All games are scheduled to take place at the Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, Florida. The teams start training in their own markets in early July, and later in the month they travel to Orlando for a full training camp after testing.
