Peter Weber’s season of The Bachelor just ended, which means we’re gearing up for other shows the franchise has in store. ABC recently announced a new series, Listen to Your Heart, and Clare Crawley’s season of The Bachelorette. The network also teased the Bachelor Summer Games to air alongside the Olympic Games. So when does Bachelor in Paradise start in 2020? Everyone will be “patiently” waiting for seventh season premiere to wash ashore.

Will there be a ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ Season 7?

Before we dive in, will there even be a Bachelor in Paradise Season 7? The answer is yes. On the day of the sixth season premiere — Aug. 5, 2019 — ABC renewed Bachelor in Paradise for another new season alongside The Bachelorette Season 16.

‘Bachelor in Paradise’ release date and time in 2020

Unfortunately, it’s too early to tell when Bachelor in Paradise Season 7 will be released. According to Deadline, the summer spin-off will start airing sometime in 2020. However, the publication did not reveal the official premiere date.

Nevertheless, it’s likely we have a timeline that will follow a streamlined schedule. The Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart begins on April 13, 2020. Then The Bachelorette will be released on May 18, 2020. Now The Bachelorette typically wraps its finale in early August or late July, with Bachelor in Paradise starting on the first Monday or Tuesday of August.

That said, will the franchise be affected by the addition of the Bachelor Summer Games? According to ABC’s head of alternative programming, Rob Mills, BIP will kick off sometime after the new summer series.

“[[Summer Games]will be its own thing and it’ll run — it’ll be Bachelorette, Summer Games,” Miller told The Ringer’s Bachelor Party podcast. “What’s nice about Summer Games, is that when we did Winter Games, Bachelor was still airing, so it was a lot. This it’s Summer Games, and then Paradise will start.”

Now it seems The Bachelor franchise will continue on with Bachelor in Paradise per usual, so long as there are no production delays or cancellations. Thus, the seventh season of BIP will likely start on Aug. 3 or 4, and claim its place in the prime 8 p.m. EST time slot.

When will filming start for ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ Season 7?

As of this write-up, we’re pretty far from filming Bachelor in Paradise Season 7. According to franchise blogger Reality Steve, the sixth season began and ended production in June 2019. Filming lasted for 21 days. So it’s likely the reality series follow a similar schedule for the 2020 season.

Meanwhile, the Olympics Bachelor spin-off, Summer Games may be canceled due to the coronavirus (COVID-19), per Reality Steve on March 11. As of now, ABC has yet to confirm. However, host Chris Harrison previously hinted the possibility of calling off the show is plausible.

“As far as Summer Games go, yes, that was on the docket,” Harrison told Entertainment Tonight on March 11. “It was going to be counterprogramming to the actual Olympics, but first of all, I don’t even know if the Olympics are going to happen this summer, much less our version of the Summer Games. Nothing official has been announced. But a key component of that is getting foreigners in our country.”

He continued: “All these people coming in, that’s going to be much harder, and I’m not sure we’re going to be able to do it. So, nothing official, but it’s probably highly unlikely at this point that we could pull this off.”

That said, Harrison did not mention whether the filming of Bachelor in Paradise will be affected. So it still remains unclear for the time being.
