The function of hiding the last WhatsApp connection was a before and after in the most popular instant messaging application in the world. So far, WhatsApp only allows you to control who can see the time of your last connection to ‘Everyone’, ‘My contacts’ or ‘Nobody’. None of the three offers the ability to hide the last connection to specific contacts. However, the messaging app could add a fourth option to this list: ‘My contacts, except’.

According to the specialized portal WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is preparing new features in its privacy settings, including hiding our last connection, description information and changes to our profile picture to specific contacts. In this way, the contact in question will be able to write to us, but they will not see our last connection or the changes in the profile image and description. At the same time, thanks to this new function, the user will not have the need to hide this information from everyone. The option of ‘My contacts, except’ is now available for states.
This new feature is not yet available on Android or iOS. Nevertheless, WABetaInfo warns that the future update will be available soon in the beta version of the application.
