Whatsapp removes Facebook from your home screen

Last week, Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook, announced Meta, a new “parent company” for company, which will be responsible for hosting all the other companies in the conglomerate, including Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp.

With the change, it is obvious that the company’s applications will also undergo changes to remove the mentions of Facebook and redirect them to Meta. According to some beta users, this change has already been made on WhatsApp.

According to reports, the beta 2.21.220.14 of WhatsApp, developers removed the phrase “from Facebook” on the app’s home screen. Also, the phrase “WhatsApp from Facebook”, shown at the bottom of the download page, has been changed to “WhatsApp from Meta”. Along with that, the mention of Facebook has also disappeared from the settings menu.

In addition to the name change, the beta version above also introduces the ability to evaluate messages from commercial accounts. This version of messenger is currently in testing phase. It will be available to more users in the coming weeks.
