The European Parliament has given assurances that it would help Ukraine until its victory over Russia.
Lithuanian MEP Rasa Juknevicienė suggests that in the letter, which Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev conveyed by Putin to Chinese leader Xi Jinpingthere were probably calls to attack Taiwan so that the West and the United States would stop helping Ukraine.
This opinion was expressed by MEP, Deputy Chair of the Committee on Security and Defense and former Minister of Defense of Lithuania Rasa Juknevicienė in an interview for TSN.ua.
“I think Russia’s agony began on February 24. That was my first impression when I saw these rockets on the horizon of Ukrainian soil that morning. Then I thought this was the beginning of the end. Because it’s just impossible to imagine that such aggressive states on the European continent could have won, but at that time, of course, few people thought that Ukraine would so strongly resist this aggressor, who helped others in the West understand that together we can win, and now we have come to the moment, which, I don’t know how it will be described in historical books, and this visit of Medvedev, and where we are now,” he said.
The MEP believes that the Chinese leader “will not be led by” Putin. However, the Kremlin is confident that the opening of a second front for the West and the United States will help the Russian army in the war in Ukraine.
“That’s how I think about this situation. They (Russia – ed) are desperate. But I’m not sure that China will be so easily, especially right now, led by the Kremlin and Putin, when many will understand that they have not been in able to bring Ukraine to the front. Russia probably wants China to attack Taiwan, so that some kind of second front opens up for the United States, so that the United States and the West do not have enough strength to fight on two fronts and help. This is what the Kremlin thinks, this is how they have hopes. But that doesn’t change the fact that we must help and defeat this evil together with Ukraine. This evil must leave the European continent. And this is clear to all people of good will,” she stressed.
Recall, on December 21, when Zelensky flew to Biden, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev arrived in Beijing and met with the leader of China Xi Jinping. According to propagandists, Medvedev also allegedly delivered a letter from Putin to the Chinese leader in Beijing.
The day before, December 20, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier in a telephone conversation with Chinese leader Xi Jinping asked him to use his influence on dictator Vladimir Putin end the war in Ukraine.
