December 26 for football fans in England is a tradition, a routine. It is a commemoration of the first match in history between two teams and the celebration of one of the oldest traditions in sport: el Boxing Day.
Although the origin dates back to Middle Ages, when the nobles gave a box to their employees as a token of their appreciation, for football the reason for celebration is a match played in 1860 entre Sheffield Football Club y Hallam Football Club.
Only two decades later did the celebration begin, which continues to this day.
Originally 10 Premier League matches were scheduled for this post-Christmas Sunday, but the omicron variant of covid-19 forced the organizers to suspend the matches between Liverpool Y Leeds United and also between Wolverhampton and Watford. The Chilean defender and selected team play in the latter team Francisco Sierralta.
The date will only have eight games and SCHEDULE informs about which are the meetings, their schedules and who transmits them.
