What do the Germans who do not want to be vaccinated in any case say – World

Over 66% of Germans are now fully immune to Kovid-19. However, many unvaccinated people say they will not get vaccinated in the future. Why? Deutsche Welle tells their arguments:

Most of those not vaccinated against Kovid-19 in Germany do not intend to be vaccinated in the future – despite the related restrictions. An online survey by the Force Institute, commissioned by the German government, shows that 65 percent of those not vaccinated do not want to be vaccinated against coronavirus in the next eight weeks. Another 23 percent answered this question with “rather no.” This means that almost 90% have not changed their position against vaccination.

The study was conducted between September 29 and October 10, 2021, and its purpose is to understand the reasons for people’s reluctance to be vaccinated. However, the participants in this issue have put forward many different arguments.

Fears and conspiracies

For one third of them (34 percent) the approved vaccines were not tested reliably enough. 18% said they feared unwanted side effects, and 16% wanted to decide for themselves how to proceed or reject compulsory vaccination. Another 15% doubt the reliability of vaccines, do not believe the official information on the subject or fear the harm and long-term consequences of vaccination.

The poll also shows that 69 percent of those not vaccinated in Germany fully or partially share the view that the coronary crisis is being used for more state control. And as many as 80% even believe that the restrictions on fundamental rights are more severe than the danger posed by the virus. 89 percent of the respondents believe that the media present a one-sided picture of the epidemic situation.

Older people – over the age of 55 – often point out that they do not trust the existing types of vaccines. And the younger ones (under 40) point out as an argument against immunization mostly the desire to have children. In this sense, the admission of alternatives to available vaccines could change something in the behavior of these people, the study authors say. More than half of the unvaccinated respondents said that approving vaccines that work on the classical principle of action would increase their readiness for vaccination. Such are, for example, inactivated vaccines, acting on the principle of killed virus.

Public pressure will not help

In addition, 29 percent of unvaccinated people say that a possible increase in public pressure would only further reduce their willingness to be vaccinated. 21% say they will be even less likely to be vaccinated if the rule is introduced in their workplace: free entry only for vaccinated, negatively tested or sick.

A screening of 100,000 active online users was prepared for the study, which is representative for the age group over 14 years. Of these, a total of 3,048 people were interviewed who had not been vaccinated so far.

According to the German Robert Koch Institute, 66.5% of the German population is fully vaccinated and 69.3% have received at least one dose of the vaccine. The seven-day morbidity in the country reached 139.2 new infections per 100,000 population. In the last 24 hours, just over 24,668 newly infected people have been registered in the country of 83 million.
