You don’t know what to do with your bulky items? Here are the solutions available to you:

  • The metropolis has 18 recycling centers, including two in Rennes, open from Monday to Saturday. Some offer re-use zones or caissons. To find out more about recycling centers near you, go here.
  • In Rennes, a specific local solution was put in place in 2019: the mobile waste collection center, which is set up every week in a district of Rennes! All waste authorized in conventional recycling centers is accepted, except plants, rubble, plaster and asbestos. To find out the next destination of the mobile recycling center, go here.
  • Finally, for bulky items such as bedding, large appliances and large furniture, door-to-door collections by appointment are organized free of charge in most neighborhoods in Rennes, in part of Saint-Jacques-de-la-Lande and in the Kerfleury district in Saint-Grégoire. Toll free number: 0 800 011 431

As a reminder, it is forbidden to leave bulky items in the street or at the foot of a voluntary drop-off point. It is an offense punishable by a fine of 135 €. For more information on the right actions for a cleaner city, go here.
