Through an official press release the Juventus announced the entry of Luca Maggiani within the corporate organization chart such as “Club Referee Manager“. Luca Maggiani is a former linesmanwhose career has been tainted by one famous double oversight: during a Catania-Juventus in 2012, Maggiani became the protagonist of a double mistake which favored the bianconeri.
At the Massimino in Catania, on 28 October 2012, it was staged Catania-Juventus (0-1): to direct the match was Gervasoni and in that circumstance Maggiani held the role of linesmen. During the first half, Maggiani canceled the goal of the momentary advantage of Cataniasigned Bergessio for offside. The position of the Argentine striker though it was regular. In the second half, however, another oversight: the goal of Vidal which took Antonio Conte’s Juventus ahead, was spoiled by a position of Offside di Bendtner.

Commenting on the Juventus announcement was also the then president of Catania, Antonino Pulvirenti than to the microphones of Itasportpress.it he spoke very harshly. Here are his words:
“Now everything is done. Finally I can say, even with a hint of irony, that Juventus has regularized the position of Maggiani. I was not wrong to have thought wrong 10 years ago and when I said on television that the Juventus emblem appeared on the Facebook page of a Maggiani club, they called me crazy and immediately the referral was taken. Today I was ‘compensated’. I had seen well on Maggiani who certainly decided the match won by Juventus undeservedly at Massimino with his two mistakes.“.
